Sales Director (Fractional/Interim)
Financial Services | Economic Crime | AI | Regulatory Advisory
London (Hybrid – 2 Days per Week)
Salary: £150,000–£175,000 + OTE
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a highly regarded specialist advisory business operating at the intersection of Financial Services, Regulatory Advisory and AI.
The organisation is entering an exciting phase of growth, investing heavily in expanding its commercial leadership team as demand continues to increase across banking, insurance, asset management and fintech.
As part of this growth, we're seeking experienced commercial leaders with deep Financial Services networks who can identify strategic opportunities, develop executive relationships and help shape long-term client partnerships.
This is an initial 6-month engagement with strong potential to extend or transition into a longer-term position.
The Role
This is not a traditional sales position.
You'll act as a trusted market advisor, leveraging your existing industry relationships to open strategic conversations with senior decision-makers across Financial Services.
Working closely with leadership, you'll help shape commercial strategy, identify new opportunities before they reach formal procurement and support the growth of complex advisory engagements.
The focus is on quality over quantity, developing a small number of high-value client relationships capable of delivering significant long-term revenue.
Responsibilities
- Develop executive-level relationships across Financial Services organisations.
- Identify and originate new consulting and advisory opportunities.
- Engage C-suite and Board-level stakeholders to understand strategic business challenges.
- Lead complex commercial discussions from initial engagement through to proposal and close.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of strategic opportunities.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to shape compelling client solutions.
- Support account expansion through long-term relationship development.
- Contribute market insight and industry intelligence to influence commercial strategy.
- Represent the business within your specialist market and wider Financial Services community.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in individuals who bring an established reputation and network within Financial Services.
You'll likely have experience across one or more of the following areas:
- Banking
- Tier 1 Financial Institutions
- Insurance
- Asset Management
- Wealth Management
- Payments
- FinTech
- RegTech
- Risk & Compliance
Experience selling or advising around areas such as Financial Crime, Risk, Regulatory Change, Compliance, Fraud, AML, KYC, AI Governance or adjacent advisory services would be highly advantageous. AI governance and assurance are becoming increasingly important priorities for regulated financial institutions, driving demand for senior commercial leaders with credibility in these areas.
What You'll Bring
- Significant experience building senior relationships within Financial Services.
- A proven track record winning complex, high-value consulting or professional services engagements.
- Strong commercial judgement and executive presence.
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
- The ability to influence senior decision-makers and create opportunities through trusted relationships.
- A consultative, strategic approach to business development.
What's on Offer
- £150,000–£175,000 base salary (open to discussion)
- Attractive performance bonus
- Long-term incentive potential
- Initial 6-month engagement with strong extension or permanent opportunities
- Hybrid working (London – 2 days per week)
- Opportunity to play a key role in the growth of an ambitious specialist advisory business
- Work alongside recognised experts supporting some of the UK's leading Financial Services organisations
If you're an established commercial leader with a strong Financial Services network and are looking for a high-impact opportunity where relationships, credibility and strategic thinking matter more than volume sales, we'd love to hear from you.
